In 2022, not much has changed for the new line of CR-Vs. The CR-Vs can be reliable and long-lasting, so having fewer new features doesn’t mean it offers less than other new models.

Trim and Exterior

The CR-V comes in multiple available trims: LX, EX, EX-L, Touring, and Special Edition. On the base LX model, you’ll find 17-inch alloy wheels, automatic headlights, and daylight running headlights. As you move up in the trims, you’ll find additional exterior features like heated side mirrors, power liftgates, and rain-sensing windshield wipers.

Engine and Power

The base engine for the CR-V comes with a four-cylinder, 1.5-liter engine that can put out 190 horsepower. This also creates 179 lb-ft of torque with a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT). Though you can still tow in the CR-V, you’ll get about 1,500-pound maximum for your load. Slightly more powerful, you can explore the Hybrid engine, a 2-liter four-cylinder that combines with several electric motors for 212 horsepower. These crossovers come with good fuel economy, too, with 30 mpg combined and up to 34 mpg on highways.

Interior

Standard in the baseline CR-V, you’ll find a basic five-inch infotainment system with Bluetooth connectivity, voice recognition, and several USB ports for charging while on the move. Once you get to the SE model, you’ll get a larger, seven-inch screen to access your navigation, music, and other applications, along with two additional speakers. The Touring offers the most, with a nine-speaker system and features like heated steering wheels, ambient lighting, and a wireless charging station.

Safety

The Honda CR-V comes with several safety features. You can find driving assistance features like forward-collision warning, automatic braking, and lane-departure alerts to keep you in your lane. For automatic adjustments when driving on cruise control, you’ll find the adaptive option that slows down and speeds up depending on road conditions and traffic.

2022 Honda Passport

The Honda Passport might look somewhat similar to the CR-V, but it’s built for more handling. Here are some of its key specifications. The Passport is similar to the Honda CR-V with more off-roading and power capabilities. These reliable crossovers have a little more rugged look like the Pilot if you’re hoping to tow loads or transport heavy materials in various terrains.

What’s New in 2022

With the new TrailSport model, you’ll find a design inspired by the Honda Ridgeline, giving it an even more rugged look and feel. You’ll also find little details upgraded in the EX-L model, like the perforated leather seating and stitching for a modern look. The new models also now come with the option to add on the Honda Performance Development package with alloy wheels, a lower door trim, and more.

Trim and Exterior

Less than the Honda CR-V, the Passport comes in three available trims: the EX-L, TrailSport, and Elite. Slightly bigger than the CR-V, you’ll find these to have a bigger length and wheelbase. The EX-L and Elite have 20-inch wheels, while you’ll find the TrailSport with 18-inch wheels, rugged tires, and LED headlights.

Engine and Power

You’ll find more horsepower in the 2022 Passport, with its standard 280 horsepower 3.5-liter, six-cylinder engine. This puts out  262 lb-ft of torque with its all-wheel-drive, nine-speed automatic transmission. With solid steering and handling, this vehicle can tow up to 5,000 pounds. The Passport has a slightly lower fuel economy compared to the CR-V at 22 miles per gallon combined.

Interior

Compared to the CR-V’s 105,9 cubic feet of passenger volume and 39.2 cubic feet of cargo volume, the Passport is slightly area in both areas. Its passenger volume is 115.9 cubic feet, and its cargo volume is 41.2 cubic feet. It also comes with an eight-inch infotainment display that comes with connectivity for your unique devices, heated seats, and dual-zone climate control. The TrailSport comes standard with built-in navigation to help direct you on your on- and off-road adventures.
