More Dynamic and Sophisticated Styling

2023 honda accord redesign

On the outside, the 2023 Honda Accord looks sleeker and more refined than its predecessor. It features long, clean lines, an upright grille, slim headlights, and blacked-out trim. These new elements give it a bold and sophisticated appearance.

Along the sides, a crisp upper character line that runs the entire body length evokes a sense of motion. It also highlights the increased length of the Accord, which has grown by 2.8 inches. Around the back, horizontal straight-line taillights underscore the sedan’s wide and aggressive stance. The rear track is now 0.4 inches wider, resulting in enhanced stability.

The exterior features of the new Honda Accord may vary from one trim level to another. The LX, EX, and EX-L models have 17-inch alloy wheels, a black mesh grille, and body-color side mirrors. The Sport and Sport-L appear sportier with a black rear spoiler, black 19-inch alloy wheels, and black side mirrors. The Sport-L also adds an exclusive black rear diffuser to distinguish itself further. With black and silver exterior trim and gloss-black 19-inch alloy wheels, the range-topping Touring impresses with its sharp and premium look.

Interior of the 2023 Honda Accord

The interior of the 2023 Honda Accord also underwent significant modifications. Step into the cabin, and you’ll immediately notice its more upscale feel. It now has clean surfaces, sophisticated touches, and high-quality materials. Honda uses soft yet durable materials on many surfaces, especially touchpoints. Also, they’ve paid close attention to the operation of all controls and switches to create a premium feel. The shift knob now leans 5 degrees toward the driver, which makes it easier to use while allowing room for cup-holders to its right.

Materials were also chosen with aesthetics in mind. For example, a striking metal mesh spans the dashboard and prevents the air vents from marring the harmonious and uncluttered design. Also, the new Piano Black trim gives the interior a more elegant appeal.

Furthermore, the Honda Accord is now more comfortable, thanks to its new Body Stabilizing Seats. These new-generation seats are built with a strong frame that provides maximum support for the body, helping reduce fatigue on long-distance trips. The sedan also has an airier greenhouse and narrower A-pillars that improve outward visibility in all directions. As for cargo space, the Accord will lead its class with an impressive 16.7 cubic feet of trunk space. It also comes standard with fold-down rear seats to accommodate bulkier items.

Improved Technology Features

For the 2023 model year, Honda has applied various technology updates to the Accord to  ensure a top-notch in-vehicle experience. One of the most notable is the inclusion of a standard 10.2-inch digital instrument panel, which performs several new user-selectable functions. These include adjusting Honda Sensing settings and providing vehicle information. You’ll get a 12.3-inch touch-screen infotainment display if you choose a hybrid Accord model — the largest ever in any Honda vehicle. This system comes with a simple navigation structure and wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

The top-of-the-line Touring trim is the first Honda to come with Google built-in, which includes Google Assistant, Google Maps, and Google Play. It also comes standard with a 12-speaker Bose audio system and a 6-inch head-up display. The LX and EX get a new audio system with a 7-inch touch-screen display and smartphone connectivity.

Safety Feature Upgrades

The 2023 Honda Accord is a safety leader in the midsize car segment. To maintain its position, the Accord  has received an array of passive and active safety upgrades. The sedan now provides better crash protection with the latest version of the Advanced Compatibility Engineering body structure, which helps reduce the impact of angled frontal collisions. It also features improved driver and front-passenger airbags and new knee and rear-side airbags.

As for active safety features, the Honda Sensing suite of driver-assistance systems uses a new camera and radar with a wider field of view. This has expanded its blind-spot information with a radar range of 82 feet. The lane-keeping assist and adaptive cruise control deliver more natural responses. Additionally, the Accord now comes standard with traffic-sign recognition and a rear seatbelt reminder. It also offers traffic jam assistance and low-speed braking control as options.

Enhanced Performance and Handling

The Honda Accord is now more fun to drive than ever before. With a more rigid chassis and new front brace bars, this sedan delivers better handling, ride quality, and refinement compared to the previous model. The Accord’s retuned four-wheel independent suspension contributes to a more engaging driving experience. Also, its front suspension gets new damper mount bearings and ball joints for even smoother steering.

The hybrid models of the Accord come equipped with a more potent powertrain. It combines a pair of electric motors with a 2.0-liter Atkinson-cycle four-cylinder engine that adds a direct fuel-injection system. Rated at 204 horsepower and 247 lb-ft of torque, this new setup makes the sedan feel more responsive and refined at highway speeds.

Also on the list of updates is the Accord’s standard 1.5-liter turbo-four engine, which powers the LX and EX. Enhancements have allowed for more refined operation and reduced emissions. They include a revised direct-inject system, a new cold-active catalyst, and a high-rigidity crankshaft. Some changes have also been made to the continuously variable transmission that comes with the base engine, which leads to improved drivability and a quieter ride.
