Honda Civic Trims
For the 2021 model year, Honda dropped the coupe body style from the Civic’s lineup but you can still get the vehicle in either a sedan or hatchback style. With the sedan, the Civic comes in five trims: LX, Sport, EX, EX-L, and Touring. If you’re looking for a hatchback, you can choose among four trims: LX, Sport, EX, Sport, and Touring. The performance-oriented Type R hatchback has two Civic trim levels: Type R and the brand-new Limited Edition.

Exterior
The 2021 Civic Sedan features aggressive lines and refined features that make it stand out from the crowd. Signature C-shaped taillights pair nicely with LED headlights that are perfect for keeping the road ahead well illuminated. Bold and aggressive bodylines maintain the angular yet sleek profile making this sedan look anything but ‘ordinary’. The Sport trim, with its 18-inc alloy wheels and center exhaust only enhance its fierce personality and aggressive stance.

Interior Amenities
Now in its 10th generation, the Honda Civic interior has evolved over the years to cater specifically to whatever will please the customer. One such feature is having a spacious and luxurious interior, highlighted by a plush cabin adorned with high-end materials. All regular sedan and hatchbacks seat five travelers, while both Type R trims fit four.
Both rows of seats are well-cushioned, so long-distance trips aren’t an issue when it comes to comfort. Rear legroom in the sedan is an impressive 37.4 inches, so second-row travelers can stretch their legs easily. Trunk space in the sedan is also expansive, with 15.1 cubic feet of space.
The hatchbacks also have plenty of space, especially when you fold down the second-row seats as you get 46.2 cubic feet of space. An ingenious addition to the vehicle is a sliding cargo cover, which moves from side to side instead of the traditional front to back, causing less frustration.

Power and Performance
You have a wide variety of engine options available with the 2021 Civic. Most options vary depending upon what type of body style you opt for, but there are two engine choices available with the sedan. The Type R has its own potent engine option. Most models come standard with a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT), but a six-speed manual transmission is available.
The base 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine, found on the LX and Sport sedan trims, gets 158 horsepower and 138 pound-feet of torque. Standard on the sedan’s EX, EX-L, and Touring trims as well as the LX and EX hatchback is a 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that produces 174 horsepower and 162 pound-feet of torque. This same engine produces 180 horsepower in the Sport and Sport Touring hatchback trims. The Type R isn’t just a sporty Civic as it boasts an impressive 2.0-liter turbocharged engine that produces 306 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque.
Technology Features
The base Civic comes equipped with an easy-to-use infotainment system connected to a 5-inch display that also includes physical knobs. Other standard features include a single USB port and Bluetooth, but the optional infotainment upgrade has additional offerings. This available system is mated to a convenient 7-inch touch-screen display and has an extra USB port, navigation, voice recognition, and satellite radio. You also gain smartphone integration via Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity.
Safety Features
All 2021 Civic models include the Honda Sensing suite of safety features. Among the highlighted features include automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, road departure mitigation, and automatic high-beam headlights. The only available safety upgrade includes blind-spot monitoring.
Due to these impressive safety features, the 2021 Civic Sedan earned a five-star overall safety rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration1. It also achieved the highest rating from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety2 in all six crash safety tests.
