September 8th, 2025 by

The Honda 2026 SUV lineup has five models to pick from, including the HR-V, CR-V, Passport, Pilot, and the battery-powered Prologue. Honda offers traditional gas engines, hybrid options, and all-electric power to match your driving style and green preferences. At Ike Honda in Marion, Illinois, we’ll help you sort through all these choices to find the model that suits your lifestyle and needs.

2026 Honda HR-V: Compact Urban SUV

2026 honda HR-v

The 2026 Honda HR-V is an affordable SUV, with the LX trim starting at $26,200. It comes with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that puts out 158 hp and 138 lb-ft of torque. You’ll get the same solid fuel efficiency of 26 mpg city/32 mpg highway/28 mpg combined whether you choose front-wheel drive (FWD) or all-wheel drive (AWD).

City living demands compact dimensions, and the HR-V delivers. It’s just 179.8 inches long, 72.4 inches wide with a 104.5-inch wheelbase, and 63.4 inches tall. You still get 24.4 cubic feet for groceries behind the back seat, or 55.1 cubic feet of space with the seats folded down.

The Sport version costs $28,000 and adds cool black 18-inch wheels, heated seats, a leather steering wheel, and better sound with six speakers.

2026 Honda CR-V: Best-Selling Compact SUV

The 2006 CR-V is one of Honda’s most popular SUVs and has three gas trims: the LX, EX, and EX-L. The LX starts at $30,920 and has a turbocharged 1.5-liter engine under the hood that generates 190 hp and 179 lb-ft of torque. Fuel efficiency is good, achieving 28 mpg city/33 mpg highway/30 mpg combined with FWD or 27 mpg city/31 mpg highway/29 mpg combined with AWD.

For size, the CR-V is 184.8 inches long, 73.5 inches wide, and 66.2 inches tall — noticeably bigger than its HR-V sibling. The 106.3-inch wheelbase creates more room inside, with 39.3 cubic feet of cargo space behind row two or 76.5 cubic feet with the seats down.

2026 Honda CR-V Hybrid: Fuel-Efficient Performance

The CR-V has an available hybrid variant, starting with the Sport Hybrid at $35,630. It pairs a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with a two-motor system for a combined 204 hp and 247 lb-ft of torque. It has great fuel efficiency, with 43 mpg city/36 mpg highway/40 mpg combined for FWD, or 40 mpg city/34 mpg highway/37 mpg combined with AWD.

If you’re someone who likes adventure, the all-new TrailSport Hybrid brings standard AWD, tough looks, and off-road ability. It rides on 18-inch wheels and sits 8.2 inches off the ground. Honda tweaked the traction control software, added bold wheels, put in a silver skid plate, included TrailSport badges, and offered an eye-catching Ash Green Pearl paint. It’s built for Southern Illinois’s mix of smooth roads, gravel paths, and muddy farm trails.

2026 Honda Passport

Honda reworked the 2026 Passport with a rugged look and a $44,750 starting price. A 3.5-liter V-6 engine makes 285 hp and 262 lb-ft of torque and is paired with the Passport’s first 10-speed automatic transmission. It’ll pull 5,000 pounds with the improved i-VTM4 AWD system, perfect for Marion families taking boats to local lakes or campers for weekend trips. AWD comes standard, giving you peace of mind on wet roads and light trails throughout Southern Illinois.

The TrailSport model includes steel skid plates, recovery points, flared fenders, aluminum scuff plates, and all-terrain tires. Ground clearance is 8.3 inches, with a 23-inch approach angle. The RTL, RTL Towing, and RTL Blackout trims have a 27.1-inch departure angle, while the TrailSport, TrailSport Blackout, and TrailSport Elite have a 23.1-inch departure angle. Comfort features include a 12.3-inch touch screen and 10.2-inch driver display, along with Google built-in, wireless Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto. The comfortable power seats are heated and wrapped in leather.

2026 Honda Pilot: Three-Row Family SUV

As Honda’s biggest SUV, the 2026 Pilot has seven models available: the Sport, EX-L, TrailSport, Touring, Touring Blackout, Elite, and Black Edition. It packs the same 3.5-liter V-6 engine as the Passport, also generating 285 hp and 262 lb-ft of torque, with a 10-speed automatic transmission. It goes from 0 to 60 mph in 7.2 seconds in the Elite trim (6.9 seconds in the TrailSport), and it stops from 70 mph in 189 feet.

For fuel economy, you can expect 18-19 mpg city and 23-27 mpg highway, depending on which version you pick. Towing maxes out at 5,000 pounds with AWD or 3,500 pounds with FWD, enough for most family hauling jobs.

All trims get tech upgrades for 2026, including larger screens with a 12.3-inch touchscreen and a 10.2-inch digital dash. Standard tech includes wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Google built-in, and 5G Wi-Fi hot spot capability.

2026 Honda Prologue: All-Electric SUV

Honda enters the electric game with the Prologue at $47,400. Choose between a 220-hp single motor (FWD) or 300-hp dual motors (AWD). The Prologue uses an 85-kilowatt-hour battery, and the EX and Touring FWD models have an EPA-estimated range rating of 308 miles — plenty for Southern Illinois driving and trips to St. Louis. DC fast-charging takes you from 20% to 80% in just 35 minutes at 150-kilowatt stations.

Charging is easier now, as Honda gained access to Tesla’s network of 23,500-plus Superchargers in July 2025. You’ll need an adapter, but it’s worth it for Marion-area drivers worried about finding places to charge. Honda also helps new owners with credits toward home charger installation, public charging, and EVgo network use, making the switch to electric less scary.
